A Selection Committee Process
The SHEA Selection Committee is comprised of eight members and a Chairperson who reside all around the province as far reaching as LaRonge and Melville. The committee membership is representative of a variety of health professions and includes two members at large. The Committee divides the entire list of nominations into two groups for the first round of assessment. One half the committee reviews half of the nominations as the other committee members review the remaining nominations. Nominations are reviewed based preset criteria outlined in the nomination form. After round one, the committee discusses their assessments and exchanges the nominations with the other half of the team for round two. At the end of round two, the Committee meets again and discusses the overall scores. For each nominee, the highest score and the lowest score is eliminated in order to arrive at the final score. Based on the scores, the award recipients are selected. |
